The 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show will represent a new beginning for the brand with the four rings Audi as the company will display in Germany its brand new logo that celebrates the 100th anniversary. Furthermore, the Audi will showcase several models at the show, including the R8 Spyder, a model that was still an enigma for all of us when speaking about its design.
But a bunch of photos got leaked onto the web yesterday, probably through the same market strategy some carmakers are adopting: they try to create excitement among the brand's fans before the public appearance of a major model.
There's not much to say about Audi's R8 Spyder, mostly because the company hasn't released specifications or other details about the car. Still, we can spot in the leaked photos that the car will come equipped with a new engine cover at the back which will incorporate larger and sportier air vents.
According to Carscoop, the car will feature a traditional folding top and not a removable targa panel, as some media reports out there claimed.
And speaking of rumors, it might seem like the Spyder will be powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine capable of producing around 525 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque. However, all these details are still in the early stage, so more information will be released next week along with the public unveiling of the car.
autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of these vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions.
