Audi R8 Facelift First Commercial: Colors

Audi has broken the ice, so to speak, with the first commercial for the refreshed R8 supercar. The video is set inside a futuristic arena with a large glass platform. In this setting, a sequence of colors is reproduced illuminating various areas of the stage, and the drive has to dash at high speed to cover them in the R8.

To show that the R8 tip-toes with precision and poise, at the very end of the TV commercial, the driver gets out of the car and breaks the glass.

“The spot manages to convey the campaign concept "Go light. Go agile." with a spectacular performance of the new Audi R8. It communicates the result of the Audi ultra lightweight construction technology while showing all the sportiness of the new Audi R8,” Audi says.

The fact of the matter is the R8 in its current refreshed form isn’t that new. The revisions made to the car mainly cover the cosmetics, by replacing the old headlights with a new LED design and changing the grille.

But, if this ad gets the R8 facelift noticed, we won’t mind it being done in CGI.
