Audi R8 Acts Like an Italian Supercar, Catches Fire in Mumbai

The Audi R8 is one proper supercar, as we found out during our test drive. However, there are some who don’t see the R8 as one and it seems that the German temptress has recently decided to prove them wrong.
The R8 already comes with the numbers to back up the supercar status, so it decided to imitate the Italian ones - it burned to a crisp during the 2013 Parx Supercar Show in India.

The vehicle was not included in the event, but it happened to cross the Bandra Worli Sea Link at the same time with the participating cars. As the R8 was passing the supercars at the parade, it’s engine compartment caught fire and the flames quickly spread throughout the vehicle.

The car is believed to have used engine tuning and this is expected to have played an important role in what happened, but nothing is clear for the moment.
