Audi of India has announced that it has begun local production of the Q7 full size SUV at their newly established line at the Skoda Auto India Private Limited (SAIPL) plant in Aurangabad.
“Local production of the Q7 is part of our long-term growth strategy in India, one of the most promising auto markets in the world”, said Frank Dreves, Audi Board Member for Production.
The Q7 will be a perfect match for Indian customers wanting something luxurious to cope with the bad Indian roads, and the model will soon be joined on the assembly line by a fifth locally produced Audi, the Q3 compact crossover, production of which will start around the middle of next year.
Audi plans to locally assembly 1,000 Q7 for the local market per year, put together from knocked down kits.
