Audi Q5 Hybrid Photos and Details Released

Believed to be released at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show, the Audi Q5 Hybrid makes the headlines once again, this time thanks to a couple of leaked photos and details. Although nobody can actually guarantee that the data was indeed leaked or intentionally released onto the Internet, this is the first hybrid in Audi's lineup.

If we are to trust the provided information, the Q5 Hybrid will be powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine that will develop 200 horsepower. It will be connected to an electric motor that will add 45 horsepower, bringing the total output to 245 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque.

In terms of performance, it will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds, while the maximum speed will be limited to 222 km/h (138 mph). Of course, emissions will be much under the ones released by the gasoline-powered model, with preliminary figures pointing to 170 grams of CO2 per kilometer.

Since we're dealing with a hybrid, the car will be able to travel exclusively on electric power up to 100 km/h (62 mph), but it won't be able to do that for more than 3 kilometers or if the average speed exceeds 60 km/h (37.2 mph). The electric powertrain will be fitted under the trunk, thus reducing the total volume from 540 liters to 480 liters.

Sales are likely to begin in 2011 and, just like BMW'X X6 ActiveHybrid, it will be offered with a special color to set it apart from the rest of the range. In this case, the color will be named Polar Silver and will be exclusively featured on the Q5 hybrid.
