Audi Q3 to Be Unveiled in Shanghai

Frankfurt, Paris, Geneva, where? This was probably the biggest question that arose every time somebody was talking about the place where Audi would unveil the new Q3. As we've all seen, none of those auto shows have witnessed the world premiere of the new Q3.

Next week, from April 19 through 28. the Shanghai Auto Show will open its doors to a world of auto excitement, as the event has become, probably thanks to the importance of the Chinese market for the auto industry, one major venue for car makers from around the world.

It will be there, in Shanghai, where the German manufacturer will pull the wraps of the new model. Hidden well into a press release celebrating the most productive first quarter of an year for the brand in China, Audi officially confirmed the presence of the model in Shanghai.

“In two weeks’ time, the Audi world will once again be focusing on China,” Audi said in the statement. “The Audi Q3 will celebrate its world premiere at Auto Shanghai 2011 from April 19 through 28.”

To enter the market as a mini SUV, the Q3, which will be produced at the Seat production facility in Martorell near Barcelona,is still a mystery when it comes to what it will offer in terms of engines and features.

Rumors, which will be confirmed or dismissed next week, point to the use of several power plants, with outputs ranging in between 140 and 200 horsepower.

Tune in next week for the full details surrounding the model, as well as photos showing the new entry.
