Audi is looking to upgrade the range of models offered on the US market for next year and the company is betting on the downsizing card to do this.
It all starts with the Q3 compact SUV, which will make its way to America as a 2014 model year. The vehicle will be brought to America at the same time with the European market facelift. The engine of choice for the Q3’s US debut is expected to be Audi’s 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder powerplant, but a diesel version could also be offered as US customers start to accept oil burners.
In addition to that, Audi will also launch the new A3 in the US next year, but don’t expect the hatchback to come to America. Sedans are the body style of choice for compact car buyers in the US, so the carmaker will bring the A3 in a sedan form, with the car set to be launched with the aforementioned 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
