Audi’s British division has announced a new entry-level version for the Q3 crossover, with this using the VW Group’s 2.0-liter 140 hp TDI diesel and being the 250th quattro-fitted Audi model offered in the UK.
The 2.0-liter four-cylinder powerplant delivers 140 hp and 320 Nm (lb-ft) of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The unit benefits from eco technology such as a start stop system and a braking energy recuperation system and thus returns a combined cycle efficiency of 49.6 UK mpg (41.3 US mpg or 5.7 l/100km) and emits 149 grams of CO2 per km.
The unit sends the compact crossover past the 62 mph mark in 9.9 seconds, while the top speed sits at 122 mph (196.4 km/h). The new Q3 2.0 TDI quattro comes with a starting price of GBP26,510 and is expected to convince 40 percent of the Q3 customers.
