Audi Presents Trimaran Yacht

Along with designer Stephanie Behringer, German automaker Audi unveiled a futuristic yacht concept named Audi Trimaran Yacht.

The amazing concept was designed as part of a graduate project from the German designer under the supervision of the Audi Concept Design in Munich, Germany. The concept represents a vessel with two jet skis integrated within a motorboat. The design features Audi’s basic characteristics such as sportivity, luxury and ingenuity.

The whole design is based on a trimaran platform which will be powered by two Audi TDI (turbo-charged injection) diesel engines while the two integrated jet skis should be electric powered. The boat should reach 6 knots (6.9 mph or 11.1 km/h) when it is driven at low speed and when it enters a harbor it can manage to move powered only by its electric jet skis engines.

When the boat exceeds 30 knots (34.5 mph or 55.5 km/h), the Audi Trimaran Yacht switches automatically to its diesel engines. These engines can recharge the batteries of the jet skis in order to increase the boats range as much as possible.

When the yacht is driven with diesel power it can be equally supported by electric power. It can even cruise at high speeds without using too much fuel.

The deck can easily accommodate twelve people and if needed, it can make room for more by flipping down a saloon table located in one of the decks.

In order to protect the crew against head winds as well as direct sunlight, the Trimaran Yacht features a huge panoramic glass that serves as a shield. Stephanie Behringer has a lot of ideas for his concept as the designer wants to add to his project a storage space on the yacht that can be used to stow equipment like snorkel, fins etc.
