German carmaker Audi has been chosen by engineering and economics graduates as the most attractive employer in a ranking compiled by Universum and Trendence consulting institutes, making it one of the most appealing company's to work for in Germany.
“The survey results show that we’ve selected the right method for becoming the most attractive employer,” Werner Widuckel, member of the board for Human Resources said in a statement. “A management culture that calls for respect, the sustained success of the Company, and, naturally, challenging job duties are important factors for graduates when selecting their employer. In economically difficult times like these, job security gains in importance.”
Currently, Audi has several entry-level and training programs in place for its future employees. The vocational training offers instruction in 20 skilled trades. Last year, 722 people began Audi apprenticeships in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm, with an extra 100 apprenticeships to be offered this year.
The dual-track education (StEP) offers, at the end of a five years study, a Bachelor of Engineering degree and certification as a mechatronics specialist or vehicle mechatronics specialist, issued by a Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
In addition, Audi also offers internships, first job experience program, international trainee program, development programs for employees and graduates and even doctorate degrees.
“We’re looking for talented, inventive engineers who bring with them a sense of courage and passion – people who make the unthinkable seem feasible. We offer them the opportunity to apply their talents in the development of new and innovative products,” Widuckel added.
