Audi Leads the Way as Top Luxury Brand in China

Volkswagen AG’s Audi brand has been rewarded by Chinese owners with top grades for its car-buying experience at the dealership. As a result, Audi finds itself significantly ahead of Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz and BMW AG’s core brand as a survey by J.D Power revealed.

The study which targets the Chinese vehicle owners uses seven factors to evaluate each brand: the delivery process, the timing of the vehicle delivery, the dealership facility, the salesperson, the paperwork, the actual sales transaction and the initial sales contract.

Audi managed to position itself on the first position. On a scale of 1,000, the manufacturer obtained the highest score of 887, followed close by Dongfeng Nissan with a score of 880. Also, FAW-Volkswagen was awarded the third position on the survey with Dongfeng Honda and Gac Toyota on its tale. Surprisingly BMW finished in 12th place, while Mercedes-Benz came in 15th. Worth mentioning the fact that the international brands took the top 18 spots and FAW Car was top domestic brand in 19th position.

The study’s average score was of 847, which was 24 points higher than the previous year setting a record at the same time for China’s car manufacturers. Furthermore, brands that scored below the industry average were not published by J.D. Power.

The study was conducted on 11,496 interviewed car buyers two to six months after they purchased their vehicle. J.D Power gathered information for the survey from 37 major cities, and included 57 brands. As a result Audi continues to be the dominant luxury brand in the world’s largest car market, as reletd by autonews.com.
