Audi recently celebrated half a million TT cars built and decided to make a special edition to thank its fans. Thus, the TTS competition was born, revealed today and scheduled to go on sale in Octomber.
The TTS competition is vailable exclusively in the special paint finishes Imola yellow or Nimbus gray and features a fixed rear wing with bars in a matt aluminum-look finish. The interior can only be had in Steel gray leather with Imola yellow accents while the Roadster's top can be had in Black or Gray. Standard 19-inch wheels feature a five-arm “Rotor” design and are shod with 225/35 tires.
All the cars will feature door trims embossed with “1 of 500”, thus further accentuate the exclusivity of the special edition model.
The powertrain is standard TTS equipment, meaning a 2.0 TFSI engine that delivers 272 PS and 350 Nm of torque to all four wheels via quattro and a six-speed S tronic automatic. For the coupes, that means 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds and for the Roadsters 5.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155.34 mph).
The special edition isn't that impressive on paper, but going from standard TTS to TTS competition costs just €1900, well worth it… if you happen to like yellow.
