A recent study that was published by Center of Automotive Management (CAM) tells us that Audi is the greenest premium carmaker in Germany. The research shows that Audi has average CO2 emissions of 144.5 grams per km (232 g/mile), with the market researchers studying CO2 emissions of new car registrations in Germany.
The CAM study shows that German premium automaker cut CO2 emissions of their new cars by an average of 10 percent between 2009 and the current year (first half the year).
The study uses data from the Federal Motor Vehicle Agency (KBA) on German roads, showing that the Audi brand attained a CO2 emissions level of 144.5 grams per kilometer (232.55 g/mile), BMW (including Mini) showed 145.4 grams per kilometer (234.00 g/mile), while Mercedes (including Smart) came in at 150 grams per kilometer (241.40 g/mile).
