Audi In Love with V12

Audi continues the V12 TDI saga for the Geneva Auto Show. After the production Q7 V12 TDI and the Q7 Coastline Concept, the stars smiled for the exotic R8 sport car which got the monstrous diesel power plant. Although Audi has already presented a concept R8 TDI at Detroit and a series version was expected, the company chose to show a second study. In fact, it's just the same car but finished in Brilliant Red instead of silver and re badged Audi R8 TDI Le Mans, whose name comes as a celebration of the R10 race car that won both 2006 and 2007 24 H races.

If the V12 Diesel unit can push the massive Q7 SUV to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, we don't have to say that the R8 sport car with the same engine is expected to be faster. And there is no lie in it: 4.2 second for the 100 km/h sprint and a top speed of over 300 km/h, enough to outperform event the current petrol powered R8.

The combination of Space Frame Aluminum technology , quattro all wheel drive and a 6 liter V12 diesel unit pumping out 500 hp and 1000 Nm of torque are not only a unique recipe in the super car world, but they also guarantee a good performance. And all this tempting power , torque and speed is Euro 6 compliant.

As Audi officials haven't announced yet a final launch date for the series car, we'll have to wait for a production version soon .
