Audi Emmys Ad Satirize Breaking Bad, Pawn Store Reality Shows

With the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards right around the corner, Audi has announced that it will be the sponsor for the fourth year in a row. Kicking things off is a hilarious spot for the all-new 2015 Audi S3 sedan, and the car isn’t even the biggest star of this six-minute video.

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul join forces once again as Buzz and Randy Jackson, who run the fictional Barely Legal Pawn shop. As part of a faux trashy reality show, Julia Louis-Dreyfus heads into the shop to pawn off her 1996 Emmy that she earned for being the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. That comedy series, of course, was Seinfeld.

The funniest part comes at the video where Cranston and Paul give a quick nod to their previous show, Breaking Bad. When Louis-Dreyfus heads back into the pawn shop to look for the keys to her silver Audi S3, she finds Buzz and Randy wearing protective suits and gas masks, but not for the reasons you might think.

In addition to this video, Audi has promised to run three more with cameos from Krysten Ritter, JB Smoove and Norm Macdonald, but this one will definitely be hard to beat.

Audi is thrilled to be returning as a sponsor of the Television Academy and we are excited to support and recognize television’s top talent. The brand’s multi-platform collaboration with the Academy and NBCUniversal continues to underscore our long-standing presence within the entertainment industry year after year. We look forward to honoring Hollywood’s brightest stars and introducing the all-new Audi Q3, demonstrating the brand’s devotion to style, technology and performance on television’s biggest night,” said Loren Angelo, Director of Marketing for Audi of America.

The Emmy Awards take place on August 25th, and expect to see plenty of product placement and advertising by Audi. Until then, check out Walter White and Jesse Pinkman reunited once again in the video below.
