Audi Concepts Look Out of this World

You have to hand it to the Germans, they sure know how to keep you on your toes. Just take a look at Audi, they’ve been tearing the market in later years with what really seems as a reinvention of the brand and an obvious move towards a more up market demographic.

Their R8 is still strong in sales, but Audi aren’t letting it steal the shine from other cars. So, in anticipation for things to come, they’ve just released a set of teaser photos that get you drooling like a dog in front of a huge side of pork.

While still looking like some doodles you’d draw during third period French, these sketches still reveal a lot about the next direction Audi is heading towards. This look applies to the A5 Cabrio, the fastback, the A7 Coupe and the new A8. Word on the street is that the first one out of that list that will actually see the light of day will be the A5 Cabrio a soft top that will be almost identical in design to the Coupe.

The very low roof line in some of these models makes them look like chop tops in American muscle cars, but also affords them a very sleek look, one that has been already implemented by BMW on its coupes and even sedans.

The 2010 A8 isn’t looking that bad either, though with a little more “color in its cheeks” and with a fuller form. It will be sold with two diesel units and two gas-powered ones. The choice between a 3.0 and a 4.2 is still open to debate.

Now all that remains to be done is take these pics, blow them up to poster size and plaster the walls of your room/study/cubicle with them until these babies will actually come out. Though you’ll have to arm yourself with a lot of patience, it’s going to be a while.
