Audi Brings Its High Performance Stars to Silverstone Driving Experience

Have you ever dreamed of tackling the complex corners at Silverstone at the wheel of an Audi R8 V10 while you were playing some kind of video game in the comfort of your home? Well, you needn't dream any more, as the latest RS models and the R8 V10 are bringing a combined 1,300 horsepower to the new format Audi driver training events at the world famous race circuit.

The thrilling lineup, which includes the 187 mph supercar, but also the 450 hp RS5 and the 340 hp TT-RS coupes, will be put in the capable hands of some rally-proven Audi Driving Experience instructors, who will provide expert insight into the key aspects of finding the optimum racing line. The numerous aspects regarding car control will include managing understeer and oversteer, high speed lane changes and avoidance maneuvers, plus general methods for balancing the car to extract the very best that its chassis has to offer.

In the beginning, the basics will be covered with ABS braking, slalom and cornering techniques, after which drivers can enjoy lap time behind the wheel of the R8 and the other course cars at speeds that gradually increase. All this time technique tips will be provided via two-way radio from the instructor in the pace car.

The full-day Audi Driving Experience can accommodate up to 30 guests each day, and takes place on specific dates from April through to October of this year. It costs £499 including VAT and is open to all drivers aged 21 and over, holding a license containing no more than eight penalty points. For the money, you also get breakfast, lunch and break-time refreshments, all freshly prepared on site.
