March 2012 was the best month in terms of sales volume for German automaker Audi, as it delivered an unprecedented 143,500 vehicles worldwide, a 14 .1 percent increase over the same month last year.
But that’s not where Audi’s new records stop, as the German automaker has also reported a substantial increase in quarterly sales. Q1 2012 was also their best showing ever, as no less than 346,100 vehicles wearing the four-ringed badge were demanded by customers across the world.
In the US, sales picked up by 18 percent in Q1 to 29,470 units, lead by the new A6, demand for which grew 87 percent compared to a year ago.
“We kicked off 2012 very successfully and expect growth to continue in the months to come,” says Peter Schwarzenbauer, Audi board member. “Our new A3 will be rolled out from the second half of this year, and we have just introduced the new-generation A6L in China.”
