Audi A8 L Receives Armor from Russia's ArmorTech

When we talk about the Audi A8 we are tempted to think about Jason Statham who had managed to push the car to its limits in "The Transporter" series. But Statham's A8 is like an A2 compared to this Audi A8 L by ArmorTech. The Russian ArmorTech customizing company offers a one of a kind stretched armored Audi A8 L, which definitely steps out of the crowd given its impressive proportions.

ArmorTech is also well known for a previous ambitious project which involved cars like Bentley Mulsanne. Just like on its previous project, the Russian company has invested a lot of time paying attention to detail and also at the high level of modifications. Most would find the A8L long enough but according to ArmorTech it disagreed. The Russian company decided to add an extra 400mm to the length of the car by extending both front and rear doors.

As a result, the additional 150mm was added to the front doors while the rest was added at the rear compartment. ArmorTech engineers guarantee that the appropriate technical changes were made to the car in order to adapt to its new features. Thus, there were made modifications at the braking system, chassis in order to support the extra weight.

Luxury features like a retractable glass panel to separate the front compartment front the rear, and wood veneer trim completed with a media center, were also added to the mix. The Russian company offers the A8 with a B6 protection level, which means it will include everything from bullet proof glass to explosive-resistant high-strength steel and Kevlar materials. The beast was left unchanged under the hood meaning that it will be powered by a 6.3-liter W-12 engine which puts out 500hp, motorauthority.com reports.

This troop carrier Audi A8 might come in handy to some wealthy “tax payers” which managed somehow to forget where they have to pay their income taxes. The armored limousine should provide enough protection just in case the authorities decide to pull the plug on them. But the model can also be tailor made for more transparrent people who are looking for more safety than a regular vehicle can offer.
