Audi is continuing its A7 Sportback offensive, with the model now landing in Australia and allowing the carmaker to enter a new segment of the Down Under market.
“With the launch of the all-new A7 Sportback in Australia, Audi has entered a new segment. The A7 Sportback breaks new ground in design with flowing, athletic, and elegant styling that combines the beauty and appeal of a coupe with comfort and practicality of a sedan,” stated the press release.
Australian customers can choose between two V6 engines, a diesel and a petrol one. The first is a 3.0-liter supercharged TFSI unit, which delivers 295 hp and 440 Nm, allowing the A6 to play the 0 to 62 mph game in 5.6 seconds. The oil-burner is a 3.0-liter TDI powerplant that producers 241 hp and a maximum torque of 500 Nm, allowing the car to complete the 0 to 62 mph sprint in 6.5 seconds. Both versions come with fuel-saving technologies, such as thermal management, stop-start technology and energy recovery.
All Australian-specified A7 Sportbacks come with the seven-speed S Tronic double clutch gearbox and quattro all-wheel-drive system.
“The A7 Sportback breaks new ground for our brand and brings Audi into an entirely new segment. It is also a vehicle brimming with technology, in terms of construction, drivetrain and driver-assistance systems. The A7 Sportback combines graceful styling with excellent practicality and outstanding driving dynamics,” said Uwe Hagen, managing director of Audi Australia.
“The A7 reinforces Audi’s dedication to providing our customers with the best possible vehicles through our ongoing commitment to design, technology and efficiency.”
