Audi A5 Sportback Photo Leaked

As is customary in today's automotive world, a photo of the upcoming Audi A5 Sportback was slipped onto the web today, because we all know that leaking a photo of an upcoming product is worth more than one thousand pages of technical specs when it comes to advertising.

After in mid June the German manufacturer released a photo glimpsing the back end of the Sportback, this time the car can be seen in all it's beauty, although the beauty aspect of the new A5 is a matter of personal interpretation.

While looking at the Sportback, we can't help but make a parallel between Audi's creation and BMW's 5 Series GT...experiment. Look at the back ends of the two and you'll see what we mean. Otherwise, the A5 Sportback does boast a clean, sporty look, perhaps more than the 5 Series.

The Sportback will become the third addition to the A5 range in September and it will be priced at 36,050 euro (for the 2.0l TDI version). In its early days, the Sportback will be made availbale together with two gasoline and three diesel engines.

The gasoline versions, namely the 2.0 TFSI quattro, developing 211 hp and 350 Nm and the 3.2l V6 quattro generating 265 hp, are fitted with a valvelift system, which provides more power, higher torque and lower fuel consumption.

All engines feature direct injection, with the diesel versions being common rail TDI units. The gasoline powerplants are all based on the FSI concept. As you might have expected, all engines meet the EU5 exhaust emission standard.

Audi is expected to make the official unveiling of the A5 Sportback in the opening days of its Ingolstadt 100 anniversary ceremony. Some say the Sportback will be detailed as soon as tomorrow, so keep an eye out.
