Earlier today, we showed you Audi’s upcoming RS5 racer, which is set to take part in the Italian Superstar series and now we’re back, as the German carmaker has published an image of the now homologated A5 DTM race car.
Audi has revealed the A5 DTM racer back in September last year, but that was an initial version, and now we are dealing with one that has been approved by the Deutscher Motor Sport Bund (DMSB).
According to Audi, the differences target the radiator grille, the air intakes located on the sides of the front fascia, the LED daytime running lights that come from the production version, as well as the rear of the car, where we find a few aerodynamic tweaks.
The Audi A5 DTM racer will be used by three Audi factory teams, which will debut testing in Valencia, Spain on March 20, with the first race of the 2012 DTM season scheduled to take place at the Hockenheimring on April 29.
