Audi A4 Cabrio Tuned by Sport Wheels

It’s June and Sport Wheels seems to be telling us something like “a new season is here so it’s time for... a not so new car!” The German aftermarket developer has recently released a modification kit for the Audi A4 Cabrio, a vehicle that has been off the market since 2008.

The tuner played with the car’s 2.0-liter TFSI unit (this engine is borrowed from the VW Golf GTI MK V), which delivers 200 hp and 280 Nm of torque when it leaves the factory. The unit has received a new exhaust system that comes with four stainless steel pipes, each measuring 83 mm in diameter, as well as an ECU remap.

The result of the tech play? The powerplant now delivers 250 hp and a peak torque of 372 Nm. So, this is not the most extreme 2.0 TFSI kit on the market, but it still manages to brings a respectable output increase. Unfortunately, the company hasn't offered the new performance specs.

The vehicle should be able handle the extra power and torque just fine, as the tuner has also tweaked its connection to the road. Sport Wheels turned to KW, installing the Variant 3 suspension.

In addition to that, the tuner swapped the factory rims with a set of Eta Beta Tettsut X-ceramic alloy wheels that come in a 20-inch size, use a five-spoke design and are wrapped in Dunlop Sport Maxx GT rubber. The tires use a 245/30 size, offering a high level of grip.
