Knowing how many Brits are fans of the original Qattro, we wouldn’t be surprise to hear they are all gone by the time we finished this article. But Audi UK has announced that 19 of the 333 A1 quattro models are destined for British shores, priced at £41,020. The only bad news is that they are built exclusively in left-hand drive.
When deliveries finally take place in the second half of 2012, 19 lucky drivers will get to enjoy the 256PS AWD monster, which hits 62mph in 5.7 seconds and tops out at 152mph. All this comes thanks to a 1,984 cc, four-cylinder engine combines gasoline direct injection with turbocharging.
Power is delivered to all four wheels via a quick-shifting six-speed manual transmission to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, at the center of which is an electronically controlled, hydraulically actuated multi-plate clutch.
All the A1 quattros will come with Glacier White metallic paint, Glacier White 18-inch turbine design alloy wheels, high-gloss black roof complete with prominent spoiler and deep-set bumpers with 100-millimetre tailpipes at the rear.
