If you believed the 20 new models announced by German manufacturer Daimler are a lot of cars for just five years, than you haven't heard what Audi has planned by 2015: to have a lineup comprised of no less than 40 new or facelifted models, including electric, hybrids and even supercars.
According to WhatCar?, the Audi models to be released in the following years will eventually make the German brand one of the most comprehensive in the industry. Of course, all this is aimed at securing and increasing the good sales numbers recorded this year.
“We have new products, refreshed products and we have more to come. The world economy has momentum and we have the right products,” Rupert Stadler, Audi chairman of the board told WhatCar?.
The German manufacturer reported for the first half of the year 554,950 vehicles sold, an increase compared to last year of 19.1 percent. The achievement made Audi's execs think they just may achieve the 1 million+ sales target set for 2010, the second time Audi plans such a feat (the first time it passed 1 million units was in 2008).
The first half of the year, as well as the month of June, was a time of premieres for Audi. The German manufacturer managed to sell more than 100,000 cars within a half-year period in China, rolled off the assembly lines the 10,000th TT 2.0 TDI and released this week the A7 Sportback.
The new vehicles to be launched in the near future, including the new A7, may boost the carmaker's sales just past their yearly target.
