Atrociously Silly and Somehow Funny Bike Commercial from Bangladesh

I just know that some will find the commercial below a pretty good one, and I will not argue, simply because I believe that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. In my books, there are good commercials and bad commercials. One which is neither good nor bad is a waste of money and other resources, because it means that it’s dull, and dull advertisement is not exactly the smartest choice to boost sales.
If anything, I can credit the creators of this ad for the way they managed to clone parts of say, some Jason Statham action movie scenes, but that’s about all there is to it. Basically, this clip doesn’t offer too much info on the bike itself, and I fail to find a single point of interest towards which a potential buyer could be drawn to.

The creators could have chosen power figures, the top speed, new transmission or suspension, a new carb, ANYTHING to actually advertise. If I was to find a use for this bike and be a bit mean while at it, I’d say that this is a commercial for a small-displacement which would barely do 100 km/h (62 mph), which is exceptionally stable when shooting people, and which doesn’t require the rider to sit in a specific position in order to work. As for the top feature, I guess I’d choose the fact that it can spin 360-degrees without input from rider and without falling.

Bangladesh and India are neighboring countries and I believe that Bollywood-style action movies are really popular in both areas, no matter how painfully ridiculous some scripts and scenes may be. To me this is only funny as hell the first two or three times watching it, becoming almost depressive afterwards and requiring some real action scenes to cleanse the mind before exposure to such things can be endured.

As for the bike, Pegasus hasn’t too much online presence. We know these bikes are assembled locally, but we could not find the origin of the parts, being left with suppositions they might be either Japanese or Indian. This Pegasus looks very similar to the 4-stroke air-cooled Victory 100 model, which produces just under 6 hp and whose declared top speed is 95 km/h (59 mph).

Lucky me I am not a judge in a Bangladeshi motorcycle commercial contest or even worse, festival. Anyway, I know I’ll just have another round of broad smiles and giggles before the day’s over… Believe it or not, motorbiker liked it.
