Aston Martin Vantage Drifting in the Snowy Alps Is Savage V12 Fun

When we were kids, winter was by far our favorite season, and not only because that was when Santa Claus came. We loved the snow. As we grow older, though, that joy starts to dissipate year after year, until we end saving our days off for a December holiday in Hawaii.
There are plenty of reasons why that is. First of all, your joints aren't as sprightly as they were back in the day, and don't even get us started on that lower back pain, and a cold, damp weather won't do them any good. Second, snow is nothing but a pain in the butt for drivers, especially in the morning when you need to extract your car from underneath it.

The real reason we're so bitter about the white season, though, is that we don't have an Aston Martin V12 Vantage S and access to a snowy track in the Austrian Alps. If we had that, we'd be like a labradoodle off leashed at the dog park.

Simply seeing this magnificent blue car (say what you want about Aston Martins, but they look gorgeous) fool around in the snow is so satisfying, we don't even dare to think what it would be like to actually be there behind the wheel.

And there's one more tiny fact that makes this video so perfect. Despite what your head thought when you last slipped on it, snow is a lot softer and even less grippy than asphalt, meaning the tire noise is virtually absent. The surrounding mountains padded with snow act as phonic dampeners, putting us in the perfect position to listen to that superb V12 engine roar, and nothing else.

Details about this tomfoolery are non-existent, but judging by the fact several Aston Martins can be seen in the footage, we're willing to guess it was an event organized either for clients or the press. But, at the end of the day, all that really matters is that we weren't invited.
