As the hot summer is already on its way, British sportscar manufacturer Aston Martin has unveiled the all-new Vanquish Volante, the convertible version of the company’s second-generation grand tourer.
Described as the “ultimate convertible super GT”, the open top Vanquish marks several premiers for the company’s Volante-badged cars: the first model to feature a full carbon fiber body, the stiffest convertible and the first open top to come with a full height windscreen.
Equipped with a triple layer lightweight fabric roof, the Vanquish Volante needs just 14 seconds to fold the soft top and let the sun shine over the leather interior. When compared to the coupe, the new convertible weighs about 20 lbs (9 kg) more and sports a slightly different rear end design.
Under the hood, the new Vanquish Volante is powered by the familiar naturally-aspirated 6.0-liter V12 engine that’s good for 565 HP (573 PS) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque. All that muscle is sent to the rear wheels via a Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic transmission.

Scheduled to go on sale from $297,955, the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante will be delivered across the United States starting early next year. However, the convertible will arrive in UK by the end of this year with a sticker of £199,995.
