In 2005, Aston Martin started making the V8 Vantage as a sort of mildly hot sportscar, an alternative to the Porsche 911 and the Jaguar XK. Initially, it was offered with a 4.3-liter V8 which sounded good but wasn't very powerful, making only 380 hp.
From those semi-humble beginnings, the V8 Vantage has evolved into a supercar, thanks to a much bigger 6-liter V12. On May 28, 2013, Aston Martin announced the V12 Vantage S — a sportier version of the V12 Vantage that it replaced.
The engine was developed from the Vanquish, the exhaust from the One-77 and the gearbox is a brand new seven-speed Sportshift III automated manual with paddles. Add to that new ceramic brakes, lighter wheels, adaptive suspension and unique design and you have one jaw-dropping.
Since the Vantage is a hand-build car, there's no reason for them not to carry over the same changes into a Roadster. Just in case the guys at Aston are still undecided if they want to built such a car or not, Theophilus Chin has rendered the V12 Vantage S Roadster in all its glory.
It'd be great if they build it, but it would be even better if they made a brand new car for a change.
