Maybe about a month ago, a rumor was circulating that Aston Martin had stopped taking orders for the V12 Vantage. While that did seem strange at first, we now know why. A brand new model called the V12 Vantage S has emerged and it's even more impressive than the last, the fastest and most powerful car they make if you don't count the One-77.
The engine is the updated AM28 V12 with 6 liters of displacement which allows it to produce no less than 573 PS (565 bhp) and 620 Nm of torque. Top speed is now a mind-blowing 205 miles per hour or 330 km/h. Aston says it doesn't know what it does to 100 km/h yet, but it should be well under four seconds.
The gearbox chosen for the is the latest Sportshift III AMT, operated via two carbon fiber padels located behind the steering wheel. There V12 Vantage S also features adaptive dampers with three settings: Normal, Sport and Track. These setting also change the sound of the exhaust, the responsiveness of the engine and the sharpness of the steering.
Cosmetically, changes are limited to new, lighter forged alloy wheels with a tan-spoke design, some new graphics, carbon fiber vents for the hood and of course this distinctive new shade of yellow we love.
