Last year may have been the year for Aston Martin to celebrate the first century of its past, but 2014 is giving a pretty good look at the automaker’s future. The 2014 V12 Vantage S proved to be a stunning display of speed, style and performance, and the all-new 2015 V12 Vantage S Roadster combines all these traits with the enjoyment of open-air driving… at 201 mph!
Yes, that’s right. If you desire the need for speed without sacrificing the wind rushing through your hair, then the V12 Vantage S Roadster is the car for you. Like the coupe, the roadster comes with some pretty bold claims, but while the V12 Vantage S coupe was only the second-fastest in Aston Martin’s entire history (second only to the One-77), the Roadster proudly boasts being fastest and most powerful production convertible that Aston Martin has ever made.

Allowing this car to make the claim of "most powerful" is the 6.0-liter V-12 that delivers an incredible 565 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. Combine this high-powered engine with the relatively lightweight (3,847 pounds) curb weight, and the V12 Vantage S Roadster should be a topless rocket on wheels. Backing this up is its 0-60 time of just 3.9 seconds, which is just a couple ticks slower than the coupe. And, just to reiterate, it has a top speed of 201 mph. Like the V12 Vantage S, the Roadster will feature the three-mode (Normal, Sport and Track) Adaptive Damping System to fine-tune the suspension and steering to match your intended driving conditions.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through Aston Martin’s new rear-mounted seven-speed automated manual transmission. To no surprise, this stunning display of power comes at the rapid expense of gasoline with Aston Martin giving the 2015 V12 Vantage S Roadster fuel economy estimates of 12 mpg city, 18 mpg highway and 14 mpg combined.

Aside from the retractable soft top, the V12 Vantage S Roadster matches the styling of its hardtop counterpart with signature elements that including that gorgeous floating front grille and the aggressive heat extractors built into the long hood. If that isn’t enough, though, Aston Martin is using the 2015 V12 Vantage S to introduce its new bespoke Q by Aston Martin Collection. Buyers can personalize their Coupe or Roadster with a variety of add-ons that include red-tinted carbon fiber, flashy colors both inside and out and a full carbon fiber center console.

If the images aren’t stunning enough for you, be sure to check out the video also released for the car showing running footage of the car and giving a great listen to its exquisite exhaust note. The 2015 V12 Vantage S goes on sale later this year, and while there’s no word yet how much it will cost, the V12 Vantage S Coupe, for reference, started at $184,995 in the U.S. for the 2014 model year.
