Following its unveiling three months ago at the Monterey automotive week, the new Aston Martin Vanquish went on a tour of North America and Canada ahead of the first customer cars reaching the market in early 2013. But before that, it’s making one big stop at an actual motor show, in Lost Angeles next week.
"The new Vanquish has(captured the imagination of customers and enthusiasts across the region as it has toured the(country, receiving a hugely encouraging response. In conjunction with our dealer partner Galpin Aston Martin, the Los Angeles Auto Show is(our final stop of 2012 before first deliveries to the region commence in the new year,” says Julian Jenkins, Vice President Aston Martin the Americas.
We’ll remind you that the Vanquish is a brand new British sportscar. It’s a bit wider and also much lighter thanks to the use of carbon fiber than its predecessor. Powering the Vanquish is a revised version of the 6-liter V12 found in the DBS, which has gotten an extra 55 hp for a total of 565hp (573PS) and a peak torque of 620Nm (457 lb-ft).
The supercar-GT will accelerate from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 4.1 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 295km/h (183mph).
It will be sold in the US either as a 2+0 or a 2+2 coupe, with prices starting at $279,995.
