Aston Martin’s secret project with Red Bull is not as classified as it was supposed to be, and a report says a group of potential customers has seen a full-size model.
We are writing about the AM-RB 001 hypercar, the latest project from the British brand. The reported presentation took place at last month’s Monaco Grand Prix, where wealthy motorsport enthusiasts gathered to watch the Formula 1 race.

Among them was an even more select group of potential Aston Martin customers, who were invited to see the next big thing from Gaydon.

The RB-001 hypercar is scheduled to be the follow-up of the Aston Martin One-77 concerning price, and is programed for launch in summer 2018. Only 99 vehicles will be built, and only certain markets will get the model.

At this stage, Aston Martin has clay and plastic models of the vehicle, which are between 70% and 80% close to the production version regarding appearance.

According to Autocar, which has interviewed Andy Palmer, the British brand has a full-size model of the RB 001, which was made for regulatory validation. If the car passes all the Government tests concerning eye position, visibility, and seat position, the model seen by the exclusive group of potential customers might go to production in a close form to what was exhibited.

At this point, you are probably wondering if there is a link between the vehicle in the top picture of this article and the RB 001 hypercar. In short, no, there is no connection, because nobody managed to snap a picture of the prototype and publish it online. So we had to settle for a picture of the Aston Martin DP-100 Concept, a fabulous creation in itself.

However, we do know that the designer of this vehicle described it as having an “incredibly dramatic, yet simple form.” That sounds good, coming from Aston Martin’s Marek Reichman, the design chief of the company.
