Aston Martin Rapide US Pricing

Earlier this week, Aston Martin rolled out UK pricing for the new Rapide, a model that is going to be released in 2010 with a starting price of £139,950. Today, the company revealed that the US version of the car will cost $199,950 but will obviously get an increase once the consumer adds new equipment and options.

Unfortunately, there are no details on the features included in the standard package but, in the United Kingdom, the aforementioned price also brings premium standard equipment like Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system made specifically for the Rapide model, heated memory seats, dual cast brakes and Adaptive Damping System.

The Rapide was officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show and will go on sale in global markets in early 2010.

Power comes from a hand-built 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 470 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. This means the car is able to go from naught to sixty in 5.1 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 188 mph (303 km/h). The engine is mated to a rear mid-mounted Touchtronic 2 six-speed gearbox with electronic shift-by-wire control system.

Other features include DSC, ABS, EBD, EBA, Traction Control, HBA, Positive Torque Control (PTC) and Electronic Park Brake (EPB).

"Rapide is the culmination of the Aston Martin range of sports cars, a car that seals the revival of a truly admired marque. There is now an Aston Martin for every taste and for every use," Chief Executive, Dr. Ulrich Bez, said back in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show. "With Rapide, the entire family can enjoy their Aston Martin together in unison, in an invigorating yet comfortable environment, sitting low, with plenty of visibility from every seat and with new levels of comfort, refinement and entertainment."
