Aston Martin Rapide S Technical Details Explained

What carmaker can ask anywhere from $200,000 for a sedan? It can only be Aston Martin, not only because they have a great brand, but also because they pay attention to the details.

Three years after launching the Rapide, they've improved the formula by means of careful reengineering.

Described as "the world's most beautiful four-door sportscar", the Rapide S is also a lot more powerful than the old model, since it received the AM11 version of the 6.0-liter V12 that delivers 558 HP and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque. In addition to that, the engine sits 19 mm lower in the car, bringing the center of gravity down.

Thanks to this, and many other small tweaks, the Rapide S is 0.3s quicker to 62 mph, needing 4.9 seconds for the job, while the top speed was increased to 306 km/h (190 mph). Aston tells us that the car is also more efficient now and greener as well, though saving money is not the first thing on your mind when confronted with a beauty such as this.
