Good news from Aston Martin, who has this morning confirmed it will sell the new Lagonda Taraf in Europe, and that there will indeed be right-hand drive versions for the UK. Production will be strictly limited to just 200 units and the chances of us regular mortals buying one are slim to none. But at least we know that we'll be seeing them in Paris, London or Monaco soon.
The Lagonda slightly boxier shape lends itself really well to the copper color in these photos. But knowing what miracles the Q division can work, we expect clients to choose even wilder tones. Aston Martin describes this Rapide-based super-saloon as being ‘the finest of fast cars’ and we certainly think the car gives reason to be an AM fan, what with their involvement in James Bond Spectre and all.

The newly appointed CEO of the company, Dr Andy Palmer, had this to say about the Lagonda: “Opening up the Lagonda Taraf to an increased number of customers around the world was a high priority for me as soon as I joined Aston Martin late last year. I wanted to be able to offer this exceptional saloon to the potential owners from around the globe who have been enquiring about it, and I’m very happy that we have been able to expand the Lagonda proposition.”

Initially available on in Dubai, where it was launched last year, the model draws inspiration from the highly sought-after William Towns-designed Lagonda of 1976. Despite this, it's also thoroughly modern, making extensive use of carbon fiber for its body panels.

Production takes place at a special wing of the Aston factory in Gaydon that was previously occupied by the stunning One-77 supercar, of which only 77 were ever built. All will be made by hand according to customer specifications and considering the One-77 costs well over a million, we don't expect the saloon to be cheap either.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
