Aston Martin DBS Volante Shows Up at Track Day, Serious Hooning Ensues

Those who attend track days, or follow these events closely over the web, can confirm Aston Martin are not your usual circuit sight. Sure, Gaydon has a few track-savvy machines, but most of its creations are Grand Tourers aimed at driving below ten out of ten.

Well, it seems nobody explained that driving pathway to the driver of the Aston Martin DBS Volante in the video below. The man showed up at a recent event held on the TT Assen track in The Netherlands, with a friend in the passenger seat.

Allow us to highlight the fact that we are talking about an open-top Aston Martin here. And the driver wasn’t into humor - he pulls some serious hooning. As you’ll be able to see in the clip below, the man still needs to work on his performance driving skills.

However, we still have to applaud a guy that doesn’t baby his Aston, driving it instead of pulling the usual boulevard cruising move.

An amateur James Bond? Not exactly, but still cool

In a way, this man is a bit like James Bond. Back in the days of the Casino Royale, Daniel Craig acted cool in a DBS. Actually, the producers took advantage of the Aston family identity, keeping costs under control by dressing up a DB9 to look like a DBS.

Craig’s driving stunt double, Adam Kirley, even pulled an air time trick, with the Aston rotating no less than seven times. The feat went straight into the Guinness Book of Records. Thankfully, we see no such destructive tricks here.

For one thing, this guy deserves more attention that the British LaFerrari owner who has been keeping his hypercar untouched ever since this arrived in a showroom one year ago. Let's just hope he's a collector and not a speculator.
