Aston Martin DBS "Glow in the Dark" Edition is Ready for Gumball 3000

First time we saw something similar it involved a Nissan Leaf EV. The glow-in-the-dark job was part of a marketing venture, this British sportscar is not. We said it before, that light-in-the-dark type of feeling definitely has our money, no matter what the car is. Using it on an Aston Martin DBS, though, that will surely make heads turn.

The 3000-mile rally is less than two days away from dropping the flag, so the last-minute participants fasten their seat belts and carry out the last preparations. It’s the case of Team 46 who apparently is taking the "outshining your fellow drivers" factor literally considering the color they wrapped the car in.

Is it the same technology Nissan used to promote its car? Probably. Since we’re talking about a British legacy here, it could only be a UK-based company to work their magic.

The story is quite simple; there’s this tuning shop, Nevana Designs, which uses the technology patented by award-winning inventor Hamish Scott. The professor is the creator of Starpath, the world’s first UV powered pathway that charges during the day and glows at the night.

Apparently, the scientist has been working in conjunction with the world’s biggest international brand names to create bespoke UV merchandise using his environmentally friendly cutting edge formula. Here’s the auto shop' explanation: “Our UV charged finish can store light energy and emit a strong glow for up to 10 hours”. It sure looks intense from where we're standing.

Since we’re going to be joining the European leg for this year’s Gumball 3000 too, we’ll make sure to keep our cameras focused on the glowing British sportscar as far as possible.
