By definition, the Aston Martin DB11 is a Grand Tourer, one that can be considered the core model of the marque's current model range. As such, there's always room for an even sharper driving experience, one that's set to arrive thanks to the DB11 S model the Brits are currently testing.
While the recently landed Aston Martin DB11 V8 provides a more subtle approach to this GT recipe, the DB11 S prototype already sports a number of spicier elements.

We're talking about the hungrier front bumper air intakes, the bolder front splitter, as well as the lowered suspension.

In the firepower department, the 510 hp output of the V8 and the 608 hp figure delivered by the twin-turbo of the "standard" model will be eclipsed by the S model's power figure - using a massaged version of the "normal" car's twin-turbo V12, the S should deliver around 650 ponies.

The British Automotive producer is expected to introduce the Aston Martin DB11 S next year, which means we'll get plenty of fresh occasions to discuss this sculpted machine.

Speaking of which, it;s hilarious to see the rough camo finish of the prototype flying from one Green Hell rumbler-strip to another.

As for the exact timetable for the release of the newcomer, there's no official word on the matter. Even so, you could expect Aston Martin to drop the S bomb in March, as the Geneva Motor Show.

So far, the DB11 has proven to be a massive hit, with the Grand Tourer becoming the quickest-selling model in the history of the brand.

In fact, Aston Martin has reported a £21 million pre-tax profit for the first six months of the year, with the company now getting back into the black after years of losses. So it's no wonder that Gaydon is looking to expand its model lineup.
