Art cars are the ultimate expression of man's passion for power and beauty. They've been around for decades, but new technology has allowed people to become even more creative.
Graffiti artist Rene Turrek has become the go-to guy for paint jobs that change color when they come into contact with water. His first creation, a Hulk-themed BMW X6, made him famous across the world, and the orders never stopped coming.
For this year's Art Basel in Miami, Rene was tasked with painting a brand new Jaguar F-Type Coupe. It started off white and received brushed-on red and blue stripes, followed by golden accents from a marker. The end result is obviously the Union Jack, the famous UK flag that people associate with the Mini, the London Cab or double-decker buses.
Rene is a true artist, but the real magic only comes after that, as a clear coat is added on top. When it comes into contact with water, it goes dark black, so when it rains, or you get your Jag washed, it becomes a totally different car.
At normal temperatures or when the vehicle is cold, the Jaguar displays its national colors with pride. We don't know if this was ordered by a British expat living in Miami, but the F-Type will be on display during the 2015 Art Basel.
We have no idea how much one of these paint jobs costs, but Rene recently made an Aventador themed after Captain America. That one had a detailed portrait, so it was a more time-consuming job than the one we see here. But the price tag of $35,000 should give you some idea of what we're dealing with.
The V6 Jag belongs to Warren Henry Jaguar, and people are already calling it the "Shaguar." The guy in one of the photos below is Jonathan Cheban, a celeb famous for being friends with Kim K. That image probably means nothing at all.
