ART Grand Prix Signs Bianchi for 2011

France's Jules Bianchi has quite some prospects for the 2011 season, as he will again attempt to conquer the GP2 Main Series title. A few weeks after being confirmed as new test and reserve driver for Ferrari F1 Team in 2011, Bianchi was offered an extension to his current GP2 deal with French team ART Grand Prix. And he didn't need much time to say “yes”.

I am proud Lotus ART put their confidence in me for another year because I know with them I have the best environment to reap what we have sown over the last few years and have the opportunity to fight for the title,” said Bianchi, who finished the 2010 GP2 Series in 3rd place, having scored 4 podiums in the process.

Bianchi will therefore mirror his 2010 commitments next year, together with his new role at Ferrari. According to the 21-year old Frenchman, this year's experience gained through the Ferrari Drivers Academy has helped him a lot in developing into a tougher racer.

“Thanks to the Ferrari Driver Academy, compared to a year ago, I feel deeply changed. It was an important experience, which made me grow a lot and made me get to know the company and the people who work on this project - skilled professionals with great humanity
,” added the Ferrari-an.

Team boss Frederic Vasseur was also excited about the announcement, expressing his hopes that Bianchi will once again take ART Grand Prix on top of the classification.

Lotus ART knows Jules well both as a driver and a person and has total confidence in him. We hope the combination of his qualities and the hard work of the team and its partners will give us all the leverage we need to aim for top places,” said Vasseur.
