They even got the suspects on CCTV, but they claim that police are refusing to review the video, SWNS reports. At the same time, they’re telling the media they have no idea why they were targeted.

You can see the video at the bottom of the page, as it was recorded by a neighbor’s surveillance camera. You can see 2 hooded males approach the car and set it on fire. One of them even manages to set his own foot on fire, but the other suspect helps him out by putting out the blaze. They run away just before the car explodes.

Hearing that first explosion saved the owners’ lives, Ross Oakley tells Express & Star. Had he not heard it, they might have still been in the house when the second explosion went off – and they could have been hurt.

The car was parked in the driveway close to the home and the second explosion caused some damage to the garage door and the home windows. Oakley believes he, his partner and their child could have been hurt too, had they not heard the first one and rushed out the back door.

“It could have been so much different had we not heard that bang,” he says. “We might not be here today. My car was just meters away from a gas mains and that could have been a different story. We don't know why we were targeted and who did it.”

The £40,000 Audi was completely damaged in the fire. Police are now investigating but, as of the time of writing, they say they have no clues as to who the culprits might be.
