California’s former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said that climate change is the issue of our time at the concluding lunch of the Munich Security Conference earlier this week. Three days later, however, the Terminator actor was once again photographed driving his petrol-monster, the 8.0-liter Bugatti Veyron in Santa Monica, California.
But wait, what has the Munich Security Conference to do with Arnold Schwarzenegger or the environment? Well, a bad environment could interfere with the country’s national security since it jeopardizes its citizens' right to safety. After all, we don’t really need further examples of extreme weather phenomena that bring disasters, powerful storms that brush away cities, killing hundreds and leaving behind million-dollar damages.

OK, but why is the Terminator actor doing a speech at this conference, though? Because of his great concern for the environment. After all, Arnold Schwarzenegger founded the R20 Regions of Climate Action to develop a sustainable, low carbon economy, back in 2011. It probably has something to do with that.

We all know that in the national security is directly linked to our energy and our environment. Climate change is the issue of our time. It isn’t the dilemma of our future generations, it isn’t our children’s challenge. It’s our challenge, it’s our dilemma. It’s what we got ourselves into and now we need to get out of it”, the Hollywood celebrity told the audience.

Yet, three days later, photogs find him driving one of his huge petrol-machines on the streets of sunny California. Let us remind you that the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse in question comes with a huge 8.0-liter W16 engine that features not one, but four turbochargers. This allows this machine to make 1,200 horsepower. Take a wild guess on how this hypercar’s fuel efficiency specs look like...

And there is no conversion to hydrogen or biofuels we’ve heard of so far when it comes to the Veyron. Sure, Schwarzenegger did that with at least a couple of his Hummers, but not with this speed-monster. Feel free to watch more of the speech California’s ex governor took in Munich, in the video below, maybe you’ll figure out which of the two the actor really is: an eco-conscious man or a petrolhead.
