Considering there is only one record-holding speedboat with Ferrari logos dating back to the 50s, this red monster that evokes their rich motorsport history is pretty special.
Despite the leather seat, this bad boy is a racing machine, built to take the speed record on water. It’s called the Arno XI Hydroplane and it was developed starting in 1952 by Achille Castoldi and Ferrari racing driver Alberto Ascari.
The expertise of Enzo Ferrari has left its stamp on the speedboat, which is powered by a 12-cylinder 5.5-liter Ferrari V12, which was also used by the Type 375 Grand Prix car.
In 1953, the boat set a new world record for the 800 kg class on Lake Iseo in Italy, one that has never been broken since. Since then, it has been restored to its original condition an will go under the block soon at an RM Auctions event in Monaco.
