Russian tuner TopCar has done a fantastic job making the Mercedes GLE-Class look younger than it is. Projects ranging from Stormtrooper kits to alligator leather interiors have been discussed on our site before, but I don't think there's been an armored one yet.
Buying a GLE Guard in Russia means two things: you're rich and known enough to fear for your life. Still, that doesn't stop the guy from wanting to stand out and taking advantage of the latest technologies in the tuning industry.

Were this not TopCar, we would be in total awe with the body kit. But these guys made an all-carbon Porsche 911 package, so a carbon hood and some grille trim for the GLE should be no problem. Speaking of which, it's positively shocking that TopCar hasn't developed anything for the brand new GLC-Class yet. It's a far newer and better looking machine, if you ask us.

Regardless, there's something funky going on with the paint, which looks undeniably purple from some angles and black from others. Could that be a clever way of saying bullets will fly off this thing like they do Superman's chest?

The interior is not only a safe place to be, but also a luxurious space. The trunk looks more comfortable (and expensive) than my bed. Even if I get shot and killed, this wouldn't be a bad place to go.

There are all kinds of wood veneer types that I can't pronounce and some tasteful brown leather combined with... what is that eggshell or ochre? If I had any style, I would know that.

The headliner is better than half the Mercedes factory interiors I've seen, brown Alcantara covering everything and some nice quilted stitching to match the trunk and the door cards. I don't know how, but Topcar used that greenish yellow color for most of the buttons and the door handles.

Before we go, we have to mention that those look like 22-inch HRE wheels. Between the leather, the €20,000 carbon body kit and the fact that it's a GLE Guard, I think this bad boy is worth as much as €200,000.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
