Ariel Nomad Invades London, Looks Cooler than Any Supercar

With London traffic becoming more and more agitated, some drivers are turning to extreme measures. That’s what we’d call driving an Ariel Nomad through the British capital.

We can see the offroad-savvy piece of machinery sailing through London in the video below and we’re happy to report this is more than just a happy man enjoying his Ariel. Since his son got a shotgun ride, we can talk about quality family time.

Come to think of it, there are plenty of reasons why using a Nomad to get around London is much better than turning to the usual fire-spitting tuned supercar.

For starters, you’ll give people around you less respiratory problems. We’re not here to bring your mood down with emission figures. But when this thing tips the scales at 670 kg (lbs) and packs a Honda 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 245 hp, it’s safe to say it is greener than any GT-R or Prancing Horse tuned to 1,000 hp. Speaking of which, this Nomad would also help you avoid London's supercar problem.

It will help you more than others. Sure, the stubby tires aren’t exactly what the mechanic ordered for the tarmac ride, hence the 136 mph top speed limitations, but the compact size and good visibility will make your London motoring life easier than it would be in a Lamborghini, for instance.

But what about the proverbial British weather? There’s nothing to worry about, the Nomad is the first Ariel with a roof and doors. These are more like a tent than an actual bodywork, but who’s got time for such details when the driving experience is so intense?

Speaking of which, you have all the 15 mph chances in the world to feel more alive behind the wheel of a Nomad than when driving a sportscar through London.

Attention? Here we are, talking about the guy in the Nomad...
