Are You Woman Enough for the Golf GTI Edition 35?

Here’s the gist of this story: Volkswagen has launched a new version of the GTI to celebrate the hothatch’s 35th birthday and they say it’s powered by a detuned version of the Golf R’s engine. OK, that’s interesting! The’ve also launched a raunchy new video showing the car being driven hard and fast by a sexy woman who sort of looks like Milla Jovovich, and it’s not OK at all... it’s awesome.

The video features everything you would expect from Das Auto’s marketing teams, showing details of the car like the pedals, the steering wheels and plenty of slow motion CGI shots from inside the engine.

But what we really love to see and hear is all those sexual (there’s no sugarcoating it, it is sexual!) “uuuh”-s and “aaah”-s that make your hear stand on end. Volkswagen didn’t really have to go to all this trouble with the GTI Edition 35, as the model isn’t going to sell in the millions, but we are so glad they did.

The GTI Edition 35 has made its premiere at the Worthersee Tour (June 1-4) in Austria. It’s powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that develops 235-horsepower and 300 Nm of torque (221 lb-ft), 25HP and 20 Nm more than the standard GTI.

However, Volkswagen says the engine is not an upgraded version of the standard GTI's unit but a detuned version of the AWD Golf R's four-pot, adapted for a FWD setup.

The car reaches a top speed of 246 km/h (153 mph) and accelerates.... who cares right now, just watch that sexy temptress shift through the gears with a manicure that’s color-coordinated to the car and works those pedals in heals.
