Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail SxSs Recalled over Leaking Oil Lines, Fire Reported

Arctic Cat is recalling all 2014 Wildcat Trail and Wildcat Trail XT side-by-side (SxS) vehicles with the Vehicle identification numbers (VIN) ranging between 000001 and 316232. These vehicles have been manufactured with improper oil cooler lines and in certain conditions they will start leaking and your SxS may catch on fire.

No less than 60 reports of leaking oil lines have been filed with Artic Cat, and in one case the vehicle also caught on fire. Luckily, no injuries have been reported, but Artic Cat is asking the customers who bought these vehicles to stop using them immediately and get in touch with their nearest dealer. The dealers will schedule a repair and replace the faulty oil lines free of charge. The Consumer Product Safety Commission reminds that selling or attempting to resell the recalled vehicles is illegal.

The affected Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail and Wildcat Trail XT SxS machines have been sold from December 2013 through July 2014, with the total of units sold being about 5,600, in red, green, lime green, team arctic green and matte black. They can be easily recognized by the words “Arctic Cat” and “Wildcat Trail” on the sides and on the hood. Customers who want to verify the VIN labels themselves to make sure whether their Wildcats are affected by this recall can find the VIN sticker on the frame tube near the driver’s side front wheel.

It appears like hoses are also a problem for other manufacturers, as Yamaha has also issued a similar recall for certain snowmobiles, whose fuel line was also leaking.
