The EICMA 2018 motorcycle shows kicked off on Monday in Milan, Italy, and the most exciting premieres from the event are already in the spotlight. As most of us expected, this year’s event is one that will see electric motorcycles make the headlines.
Among the most highly anticipated electric bikes to be revealed at EICMA is one from a newcomer to the industry. The bike is called Arc Vector, is described as the most advanced electric motorcycle and comes with a price tag to match.

As per the figures made public by Arc, the bike’s battery pack gives it a range of 120 miles on the highway (193 km) and 170 miles in the city (274 km). Aided by the motors, the bike can reach 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and tops at 150 mph (241 mph).

But similar performances we’ve seen before, so Arc had to come up with something really extraordinary to justify asking £90,000 for on ($117,000). Enter the Zenith helmet with head-up display and the Origin armor.

The helmet has been designed together with Hedon and features a HUD similar to the one used in fighter pilot systems. It comes with a rear-mounted camera that kicks in automatically when it detects something in the rider’s blindspot. Wi-fi and voice control of the bike’s systems are also facilitated by the helmet.

The Origin armor was designed with the help of Knox and features a haptic sensor fitted in the most sensitive areas of the body so that the messages it sends can be quickly perceived by the rider.

The armor can be programmed in several different modes, including one called Euphoric. This allows music to be played “into you.” The jacket can also act as an extension of the bike’s systems vibrating, for instance, when a potential hazard is detected.

Arc is already taking orders for the bike. Only 355 units of it will be produced.
