Arai Launches Three New Helmets for 2011

Japanese motorcycle helmet manufacturer Arai recently unveiled its 2011 product line-up, comprising three brand new items meant to enhance the riding experience. The new the Chaser-V, X-tend and X-tend RAM helmets are recommended by the company’s JD Power Satisfaction Study 12th consecutive win.

Taken separately, the Chaser-V takes the Chaser line to another level, being built with a SFL (Super Fibre Laminate) shell, a wider aperture and SAI visor. Interior comfort is enhanced thanks to the modified ventilation system.

Furthermore, some interior parts have been deleted, while attachment buttons have been repositioned. The shape of the inner shell has also been fine-tuned to prevent pressure points. The Arai Chaser-V is available at £349.99/$564/EUR410( plain colors) or £409.99/$660/EUR481 (graphics).

Next we have the X-tend, which joins the SZ line-up, featuring a brand new outer shell with sides that extend 3 cm (1.18 inch) for extra protection, and the addition of a ‘bumper’ reinforcement at the bottom. The cheekpads are fitted with their own EPS liner for protection against side impacts, while their shape follows the contours of the cheekbone.

New visor holders are more recessed into the outer shell for better aerodynamics while the shielded rear exhaust vents reduce wind noise. A more rounded visor completes the integrated look. The Arai X-tend is available for £319.99/$515/EUR375 (plain colors).

Finally, the X-tend RAM open face version uses technology gained from the race-specification RX-7 GP. The helmet incorporates all the features of the X-Tend but adds a ‘diffuser’ ventilation system and integrated Air Wing to its outer shell. The Arai X-tend RAM is available for £379.99/$612/EUR445 (plain colors).
